Nothing but praise for this restaurant. On a Saturday night when the restaurant was busy, we had three courses, and were in and out in little over an hour. Food was fresh, portion-size just right. If you want a dessert - the amaretto trifle was divine!
We had a lovely meal here, quite small and quaint inside but it’s popular so advise you book a table. The food was delicious, plenty of options on the menu, there’s also a specials board. Gluten free / vegetarian options available. Nice drinks menu as well, there’s also Italian wine we had was lovely. Nice friendly staff with good service. Would recommend.
Food was beautifully prepared. Service was beyond friendly. Great value for the money. If you like spicy, order the Penne Alla Romana, ask for extra spicy on the side - absolutely brilliant. Don't forget to seal the meal with a grappa.
Great little Italian, perfect sized portions, lovely little cocktail to start. forgot to take photos of food. Had a prawn tagletilli and husband had a penne nduja one all very tasty with pannacotta for dessert. Service was fantastic
Words cannot describe the spectacular food I had this evening. I spent a while trying to decide what to have, then I stumbled upon the crayfish spaghetti dish. I was not disappointed. It was glorious. I then asked which wine would be best paired with the dish, and again, I was not disappointed in the slightest. My partner also really enjoyed his meal. The whole experience was exquisite. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as the food was beautiful and the staff were so lovely and seemed to be passionate about Italian cooking. 100% recommend!!
Our favourite place to eat in Barnstaple. The food is superb, prepared and cooked on site and utterly delicious. Far outdoing any restaurant chain. The staff are friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Hard to find somewhere better than Giovanni’s.
The food is absolutely delicious. I had zucchini & artichoke starter, followed by funghi pizza as a main course. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had. The service is slow, but absolutely worth the wait. Authentic Italian cuisine of the highest calibre.
We visited Giovanni's in Barnstaple last night a lovely Italian restaurant.we had Mozzarella in Carrozza as a starter which was full of flavour and a nice light starter ,my wife had lasagna al forno as her main it looked very well presented and was delicious for my main I had Penne Pasticciate and this was full of flavour for the dessert we had the tiramisu and a a panacote with chocolate sauce and both were excellent.The service was very friendly and professional and very attentive.I will definitely be visiting again and recommending to all
